Start each day with this drink

Instead of your dependence on coffee and caffeine first thing in the morning, hydrate your body after your night of fasting. Nothing is better than filling your body with a 16 ounce glass of water first thing upon awakening. You can place it by your bed before going to sleep, so you won’t forget when you wake up. It will be the first thing you see in the morning! For added benefits, take a look at the following additions. Drink to your health!

In order to add some ZING to your water and jump start your digestion, you can add 1 of the following:

1) Add 2-3 ounces of aloe vera juice:

  • Great for your digestive tract:  encourages the bowels to move, helps regulate the contractions  of the muscles in the gut and balances the gut flora (great for those with Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative colitis and Irritable bowel syndrome)
  • Assists the immune system: a general tonic for the immune system, helping to fight illness of all kinds (great for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome sufferers)
  • Full of 30 vitamins and minerals
  • Reduces pain and inflammation: improves joint flexibility and helps with pain due to its polysaccharides— the amino sugars needed for the regeneration of body cells

2) Add the juice of 1 lemon or lime:

  • Great for your digestive tract: relieves symptoms of indigestion such as heartburn, bloating and belching and aids in eliminating waste more efficiently, thus controlling constipation and diarrhea
  • Stimulates the liver

3) Add 1-2 Tablespoons of unpasteurized, unfiltered apple cider vinegar

  • Rich in potassium: an important mineral responsible for metabolizing sugar into glycogen
  • Acts as a detoxifier: it purifies the blood and cleanses vital organs
  • Cleanses the intestines and digestive tract:  encourages regular bowel movements, prevents diarrhea and reduces the risk of food poisoning
  • Lowers glucose levels: great for diabetics
