Philosophy: The Missing Link

The philosophy behind my business stems from my experience working as a physician assistant for 13 years. During that time, I felt that something was “missing” from the care that my physician partners and I were providing for patients – the link between nutrition, lifestyle and exercise and how these aspects can dramatically decrease the risk of most illnesses and diseases. Unfortunately, this connection between food and lifestyle with the disease process is not taught in medical schools, so most MDs do not recognize this link or teach their patients about it.

My personal passion for food and exercise combined with my medical and exercise physiology background made this area the perfect opportunity for me. I set out to create a business where I could provide individuals with information and coaching on preventing disease and feeling happier and healthier through daily nutrition, exercise and lifestyle choices. My ultimate goal is to help clients find the peace and contentment that comes from balancing all aspects of life: health, passion, family, work, love, friendships, relaxation, stress, and more.

Physicians are my partners and one of my best sources of referrals. As part of my business, I work to help physicians recognize the connection between diet/lifestyle and disease and see that my services can help their patients with an existing issue and help prevent future problems. I believe that my medical training is a key differentiating factor between myself and other nutritionists, registered dieticians, and wellness coaches. My background helps me serve as a bridge – linking traditional medicine with a more holistic or integrative approach.

I LOVE what I do. When I help someone learn to shop, cook healthier meals, feel more energetic, improve their symptoms, or help them lose weight, I feel a personal satisfaction unlike any I have ever felt from past work. I feel privileged to help my clients make choices that lead to happier, healthier lives.
